MANDARIN beadwork
Mandarin is created from the base up using clear faceted plastic beads and clear plastic wire. A network of plastic beads which as already mentioned, "echo the simple honeycomb structure constructed by bees" form a three dimensional circular base. More plastic beads leave the base in a line as a stalk and two moulded plastic leaves jut outwards. The edge of faceted beads when placed next to each other form sharp corners; this makes the circular beaded base have pointed star shapes for gaps in the network. The Mandarin base is 2cm high while Mandarin 6 is 3.5cm because bigger beads are used to make it.
